YEREVAN. – Official Baku is delaying the return of the body of Karen Petrosyan, who was killed in Azerbaijani captivity, to hide the traces of cruelty.

Zarine Hakobyan, who is a member of Armenia’s Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, stated the above-said at a press conference on Thursday.

In her words, in this way the country’s leadership is attempting to see to it that the Azerbaijani MOD’s earlier statement on the cause of Petrosyan’s death is considered trustworthy.

Hakobyan added, however, that this is not the first time when official Baku keeps away from constructive negotiations, or does not follow agreements.

Karen Petrosyan had no serious health issues at the moment of his capture. But after his death under unclear circumstances, the Azerbaijan MOD had stated that Petrosyan had died of an “acute heart failure.”
