YEREVAN. – Armenian News-NEWS.am’s monitoring conducted in capital Yerevan’s flower market has revealed that Saturday’s flower demand is clearly less than on March 8, the International Women’s Day. As a result, some flowers are cheaper on April 7, the Motherhood and Beauty Day.

The main price reduction refers to the roses. The Dutch roses cost AMD 1,000-1,500 each, whereas the local ones are AMD 400-500. This is nearly half the price on March 8.

The poppies are relatively cheaper. The local ones cost AMD 200-250—while were AMD 300 on March 8—, whereas the Dutch poppies cost AMD 500—and they were AMD 700 on March 8.

Instead, the snowdrops cost AMD 200, which is the same as on March 8. They are sold for AMD 100 on regular days. Incidentally, the snowdrops are the most demanded flowers on April 7.

The jonquil prices, on the other hand, have not really increased as compared with ordinary days. One jonquil is sold for AMD 50.

In line with the current exchange rate, US$ 1 is equivalent to approximately AMD 391.
