YEREVAN. – In the run-up to Armenia’s National Assembly elections, capital Yerevan’s former Mayor Gagik Beglaryan is attempting to secure votes for the single-mandate MP candidates who are nominated from the capital’s Central district and by the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia, Hraparak daily writes.

“According to our information, Beglaryan recently invited to a restaurant the representatives from the educational, medical, and other institutions under the City Hall’s jurisdiction, and organized a feast in connection with April 7, the Motherhood [and Beauty] Day.

Also, Central’s MP candidates Ruben Sadoyan and Garegin Nushikyan were on hand.

Those present [, however] were much more impressed not by the candidates’, but [rather] by Beglaryan’s—Mayor-like—demeanor,” Hraparak writes.
