YEREVAN. – On Friday the electoral commission of Yerevan’s N 2 electoral district investigated the application of MP Candidate Samvel Farmanyan, according to whom MP candidate Vladimir Karapetyan has committed an election violation. Vladimir Karapetyan’s campaign posters were posted on a building in election district N 2 without any legal permission.

Samvel Farmanyan’s electoral headquarter made a statement.

It is stated in the statement that even though the representative of Vladimir Karapetyan did not present any legal document stating that the posters were allowed to be published in district N 2, Samvel Farmanyan took his appeal back as it would create additional problems for V. Karapetyan.

Eight political parties and one block have presented their nominations – Republican Party of Armenian, Prosperous Armenia Party, Orinats Yerkir, opposition Armenian National Congress, opposition Heritage Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Communist Party of Armenia, Democratic Party of Armenia and United Armenians Party.

For entering the National Assembly, parties must poll over 5% of votes, while blocks - over 7%.

The election campaign will be held till May 5 - the day prior to elections when campaigning is banned. The parliamentary elections will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on May 6, 2012.
