YEREVAN. – Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan received Venice Mayor Giorgio Orsoni, who is in Armenia along the lines of the “Yerevan: World Book Capital 2012” celebrations, the Government Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

“We are happy to receive you, especially ever since an agreement of cooperation between the two cities was signed in Venice. I believe this opens a new page in our relations. There are numerous domains where we have a great potential for cooperation,” Sargsyan stated.   

In his turn, Venice Mayor noted that developing economic and cultural ties is a main objective for becoming sister cities. 

The interlocutors discussed the possible directions for developing bilateral partnership. As prospective domains, Tigran Sargsyan pointed to tourism and the textile industry.  

Also, they underscored the need to increase business contacts between Armenia and Italy.

In addition, Tigran Sargsyan and Giorgio Orsoni reflected on expanding cultural ties between the two countries.
