YEREVAN. – In the lead-up to Armenia’s nationwide elections, a special attention is paid so that the citizens with disabilities become aware and participate in the elections, Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan stated during a press conference on Friday.
In his words, prior discussions were held in this regard, and the disabled people’s election-related issues are gradually solved.
The CEC will soon launch its new website’s special section, which is intended for citizens with impaired vision.
Activities are also underway with respect to those with hearing difficulties.
At present, wheelchair accesses are being installed at several election precincts.
As per Mukuchyan, even though it is impossible to carry out such activities in all 1,200 precincts at the same time, they will do everything possible so that there will be more disabled-friendly precincts in these elections.
