YEREVAN. – The working group, which is formed by the order of Armenia’s Prosecutor General, received 58 election violation reports whose 25 were discovered in media reports, Artur Davtyan, an official from the Chief Prosecutor’s Office, told news reporters on Sunday.        

According to Davtyan, these reports were divided into two groups: First, those which contain characteristics of or information on a crime. And second, those that are considered an administrative offense, or an election violations with certain procedures envisioned by the Election Code.         

The first group’s 23 reports are concerning the obstruction of the voter’s right to freely exercise his will. Also, 19 reports are with respect to the obstruction of the right to vote. And 13 reports were received in regards to the second group.   

Artur Davtyan also informed that this year’s reports are more in number, as compared with those in the 2007 parliamentary elections, and this is because of the effectiveness of the awareness-raising activities.
