SYDNEY. – Armenian chief organizations in Australia declared about the establishment of a Joint Committee to support the Armenian community of Syria.
The statement claims that the continuous presence of the Armenian community in Syria has become an important support for the Diaspora. It also stated that due to the continuous conflict, the community needs the support of Diaspora, armenia.com.au informs.
The statement calls on the Australian-Armenians to help their Syrian compatriots and have their contribution in the preservation of the community. To note, around 60,000 Armenians live in Syria, and great majority of them reside in Aleppo and Damascus.
