YEREVAN. – Armenia’s press recently wrote that a Freemasonry gathering was expected to be held soon in the capital city Yerevan, during which the discussants were to examine the country’s forthcoming presidential elections, Hraparak daily reports.

“But filmmaker Ruben Gevorgyants, who had declared himself a freemason, had denied [this news] saying that no meeting was held and it will not take place for another 6-7 months.

But we managed to find out from a reliable source that a Freemasonry gathering has taken place approximately ten days ago, in which participated freemasons who had arrived from a variety of countries. The gathering ended recently, but some of those who arrived in Armenia have not yet departed because a new meeting is expected soon, in which higher-ranking freemasons will partake.

Specifically, Grand Orient De France [Freemasonry] lodge’s Grand Master Guy Arsize—who again was in Armenia last year within the framework of the conference of the world Armenian freemasons and held a [press] conference—is expected to arrive in Armenia,” Hraparak writes.
