YEREVAN. – Armenia’s national carrier Armavia Air Company is not in need of the services provided by the Armenian aviation weather center, the company’s secretary Nana Avetisova told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Earlier center’s head said the Armenian meteorologists will stop sending any data to Armavia Company unless it pays off all the debts.

“We believe the services provided by that center are unnecessary since we are cooperating with another company ArmAeronavigaciya,” Avetisova said stressing that rejection of services will no way impact the flight operating safety.  Besides, center’s price is too high, she emphasized.

As reported earlier, Armenian national carrier’s debt increased from AMD 48 million last year to 93.4 million.

“The company refuses to contact us. We have commitments to other companies and are unable to meet them because of Armavia’s debts,” acting head of the aviation weather center Pavel Manukyan said.

One hundred percent shareholder of Aviation Weather Center CJSC is Armenia’s Ministry of Nature Protection.
