YEREVAN. – Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan’s proactiveness and his operations of disarming bodyguards is not to the liking of some oligarchs, and they met with Prosperous Armenia Party Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan asking him to raise the matter of Gasparyan’s dismissal during the talks between Tsarukyan and President Serzh Sargsyan, and with respect to supporting Sargsyan in next year’s presidential elections, Zhamanak daily reports.   

“In return, they pledged to support Tsarukyan. According to some information, Tsarukyan, who likewise has tense relations with the Chief of Police, has accepted this offer and, now, this matter likewise is on the agenda of the Sargsyan-Tsarukyan negotiations,” Zhamanak writes.
