YEREVAN. – The people of Armenia will choose between the bad and the worst in next February’s presidential elections, opposition Free Democrats Party Vice Chairwoman Anush Sedrakyan stated during a press conference on Monday. 

But the event’s other speaker, ruling Republican Party MP Artak Davtyan, did not agree with this assessment and said the people are choosing between the good and the best.  

Reflecting on the Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) political consultations, Davtyan noted that participation in these talks is something for the given political force to decide. Yet he believes these proposals are discussions that are cut off from reality and the “footnotes” of these proposals actually show what they wish to say.     

In her turn, Anush Sedrakyan stated that political consultations are welcome, but noted Armenia’s political forces should have listened to one another around three years ago. “The Free Democrats likewise will speak with PAP and all political forces, yet I think that the Free Democrats, as the most liberal political force, must speak with everyone,” Sedrakyan said.        

She added that in the case when Armenia’s third—and serving—President will run for elections in person, the first and second presidents will have their representatives in this voting.
