A delegation from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin attended, in Cairo on Sunday, the enthronement ceremony of Tawadros II, the newly-elect Pope of Alexandria and All Africa, the spiritual leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church. 

Following the Holy Mass, the delegation members held a private talk with Pope Tawadros II and handed him the congratulatory message sent to him by the Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II.  

“Our two churches are linked to one another by one faith and the love of Christ. The relations between our two churches are expressed by bilateral meetings and our representatives’ cooperation in the ecumenical movement. We pray that these relations continue during your reign [and] record new accomplishments,” Karekin II’s congratulatory message to Pope Tawadros II reads in particular.
