U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is heading to Israel and Palestine in an effort to settle the conflict.

She will visit Jerusalem, Ramallah and Cairo, spokesman for the White House said. White House deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes said Clinton will head to the Middle East from Cambodia where she is accompanying Barack Obama during his tour to Southeast Asia.

Clinton will hold a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, NBC reported.

Israel decided to postpone launching of a land operation in the Gaza Strip. A government source told AFP the decision is made to give more time for the diplomatic settlement of the conflict held under Egypt’s mediation.

Israel has launched military operation in Gaza starting from November 14. According to media reports, over 100 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes.
