YEREVAN.- Armenian parliament’s special session convened on the initiative of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc did not take place.

Quorum was not obtained during three hours necessary for registration of MPs. Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov stated only 46 lawmakers, instead of 66 necessary for quorum, registered for the session.

The deputies from the ruling coalition’s Republican Party and Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) parties are not at the NA Sessions’ Hall. Three MPs of Prosperous Armenia Party, including leader Gagik Tsarukyan, were absent. Besides, ANC member, leader of People’s Party Stepan Demirchyan was not present because of he had recently underwent a surgery.
