BEIRUT.- Lebanon supports Armenia’s aspiration to settle Karabakh conflict peacefully, President Michel Suleiman said at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.
Suleiman said they had discussed issues related to cooperation in different fields as well as regional problems, including the Syrian crisis, and Gaza developments, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from Beirut.
Lebanon’s President said cooperation between the two states is based on mutual respect and trust.
“We are proud of Armenian community of Lebanon which has considerable contribution to country’s economy and culture,” he said speaking about large Armenian community.
Speaking about political position of the Armenians, Suleiman stressed they are both a part of the opposition and ruling regime, just like other citizens of Lebanon.
