YEREVAN. – A process is now underway, there is no final decision, yet there is a concrete approach in terms of a presidential candidate, opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP and Social-Democratic Hnchakyan Party (SDHP) Chairwoman Lyudmila Sargsyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

“For us the primary, and virtually ultimate, candidate is [ANC leader and First President] Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Expressing another expression, [or] view today would be an anachronism,” Sargsyan added. 

The MP stressed that a serious process and talks are in progress, and she expressed a hope that eventually “we will realize that it is solely by uniting that we can fight a serious battle and get rid of this [ruling] system.”    

In Lyudmila Sargsyan’s words, Levon Ter-Petrosyan can take Armenia out of this crisis. “Levon Ter-Petrosyan is the [political opposition’s] best single candidate [for next February’s presidential elections],” she said.
