YEREVAN. – According to sources close to opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC), its members who are against collaborating with the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) are anxiously waiting for PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan to announce that he will not run for President in next February’s elections, 168 Zham daily reports.

“The ANC members, who are terrified of the prospect of an ANC-PAP cooperation as well as a participation [in the elections] with a single candidate [from the opposition], believe this will be their only salvation and ANC will evade the prospect of supporting Gagik Tsarukyan’s candidacy.

According to our sources, solely [ANC leader and First President] Levon Ter-Petrosyan and [ANC National Assembly Faction leader] Levon Zurabyan are those from ANC who want for PAP and Gagik Tsarukyan to be nominated,” 168 Zham writes.
