Armenia’s City of Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan on Thursday received French Ambassador Henri Reynaud.

First, Balasanyan extended his thanks to the French government for its assistance provided to Gyumri ever since the 1988 earthquake and, subsequently, he presented his personal vision for the development of the city and the main challenges Gyumri faces.    

In his turn, Ambassador Reynaud congratulated Samvel Balasanyan for being elected mayor, and he expressed a hope that relations between Gyumri Municipality and the French Embassy in Armenia will further deepen during Balasanyan’s term in office. 

Next, the interlocutors exchanged views on separate matters and, also, touched upon the prospect for establishing bilateral ties between Gyumri and a French city.
