YEREVAN. – What serious and urgent matters have risen between Armenia and Georgia that the latter’s premier decided to visit Armenia? Armenian presidential hopeful, epos specialist Vardan Sedrakyan asked during a press conference on Monday.
He believes Georgian PM Bidzina Ivanishvili is coming to Armenia to express his support to incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan in Armenia’s forthcoming presidential election.
Sedrakyan recalled that if he is elected president of Armenia, he will recognize the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. “I advise the Georgian PM not to visit Armenia,” he added.
Also, bringing to mind that Russian President Vladimir Putin will come to Armenia at the end of January to support Serzh Sargsyan, Vardan Sedrakyan urged Putin, as well, not to arrive in the country.
As per Sedrakyan, Serzh Sargsyan is not a president who is elected by the people but, instead, he was designated by the president of Russia.
