YEREVAN. – The American national currency’s average exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), comprised AMD 406.45/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Tuesday.
To note, the stock exchange saw no trading on Monday, and the aforesaid exchange rate is a 0.62-percent—or an AMD 2.55—drop from the previous trading session on January 11; this is a very considerable fluctuation for the financial market of Armenia.
Tuesday’s sales totaled solely $1 million at the stock exchange. To mention, the US currency exchange rate fluctuations in the first ten days of 2013 are occurring without any direct intervention by the Central Bank.
The dollar’s buying exchange rate dropped all the way to AMD 404/$1 or AMD 405/$1, at the cash foreign currency market of Armenia, while the selling rate fell until AMD 406/$1.
