YEREVAN. – The absence of tension ahead of Armenia’s presidential election is an important signal for the body politic, ruling Republican Party MP Gagik Minasyan told news reporters on Wednesday.

In his view, the Armenian society has clear expectations from these elections, since the authorities have done much work to surmount the crisis and the difficult domestic political situation.

“All major political forces are in the parliament today, and this gives hope that this election will be conducted at a higher level,” Minasyan said.

In his words, such relaxed pre-election atmosphere in Armenia keeps the body politic away from post-election aggression and enables to carry out reforms without delay.

As for the presidential race, in Minasyan’s view, each of the main candidates is a distinguished personality.
