YEREVAN. – The doctors from Armenian capital city Yerevan’s First Aid Center visit presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan—who is on a hunger strike ever since January 21—every morning and every evening, ask about his health condition, checks his blood pressure and fever, and conduct several other medical examinations; and Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan is reported on the results on a daily basis.      

Deputy Health Minister Vahan Poghosyan visited Ghukasyan on Wednesday morning. During their conversation, the presidential contender informed that he does not have any specific complaints about his health, and he solely informed that his blood pressure had reduced and he felt somewhat weak. He noted that he decided to carry out his hunger strike for the day in a lying posture, so as to use up as little energy as possible. 

In his turn, Poghosyan proposed to conduct a series of hospital-based medical examinations on Ghukasyan, but he refused. Nonetheless, they came to an agreement that Ghukasyan will inform the deputy health minister forthwith, if his health condition changes.   

Separately, and upon Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan’s instruction, an ambulance staff will carry out a 24-hour medical supervision on location, as of Wednesday.
