YEREVAN. – Based on the appeal that was made in the Central Electoral Commission’s (CEC) statement on Friday, Armenia’s Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan will visit, on the same day at 2:30pm, presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan, to learn about his health concerns, on location, and to discuss the avenues toward assessing his health condition.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, considering the recent media reports in connection with the deteriorating health condition of Armenia’s presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan, the CEC expressed its concern with respect to Ghukasyan continuing with his hunger strike.

“Being concerned by the health condition of presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan, we call upon Mr. Ghukasyan to end his hunger strike and to take steps toward avoiding health complications.

At the same time, we appeal to the Health Ministry to make the presidential candidate’s health condition become a professional discussion subject matter and to express a professional opinion,” the CEC’s respective statement read in particular.

To note, presidential contender Andreas Ghukasyan is on a hunger strike ever since January 21, and under the slogan, “Stop Fake Elections.”
