YEREVAN. – The International Women’s Day, which is marked on March 8, is associated with a family holiday for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia’s female MP Karine Achemyan, and it always creates positive emotions. The MP herself said this during a press conference on Friday.

Separately, and in Achemyan’s view, politics is for men. But if a woman wishes to get involved in politics and possesses a respective aptitude, she should get involved in it.

“The women’s involvement is quite high in the Republican Party of Armenia, but I believe it is unacceptable for women to enter the parliament on the basis of gender alone,” Karine Achemyan concluded.
