YEREVAN. – On the occasion of the International Women’s Day—which is celebrated every year on March 8—and upon the instruction by Armenian capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, a variety of festivities are organized in the city since early Friday morning.  

Colorful and festive “8s”are placed at downtown Yerevan’s Northern and Mashtots Avenues. Also, and on behalf of the Mayor, mime performers and their assistants distributed flowers and greeting cards to all the women and girls who were passing by.  

Thanking the Mayor for this unexpected but pleasant surprise, these women, in their turn, extended their best wishes to all Armenian women.   

The sounds of Yerevan songs being heard at the avenues likewise provided a high festive spirit.
