Russia and Armenia are connected by special relations, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his meeting in Moscow with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. Also, he congratulated Sargsyan again, and in connection with his victory in the presidential election that was held in Armenia on February 18. 

“We have special relations with Armenia. Overall, they are developing successfully. The growth in commodity turnover made up over 20 percent last year, and Russia continues to maintain first place in trade and economic turnover with Armenia,” the Russian president said.     

He also noted that Russia is first, with over $3 billion, in terms of volume of investments in Armenia.

“We have good joint investment projects. I hope we will have the opportunity today to engage in discussions about all these,” the Russian leader noted.

In his words, contacts in the political domain are developing just as actively.
