YEREVAN. – The pre-election phase in Armenia’s recent presidential election was distinguished by the fact that—opposition Heritage Party leader, former FM—Raffi Hovannisian, who is declared runner-up in the vote, is not a well-defined political leader, ruling Republican Party MP Gagik Minasyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.

He recalled Hovannisian’s words that the post-election developments must be to the letter of the law, and that no drop of blood is acceptable.

“Can Raffi Hovannisian fulfill those high percentages [of the votes] he received and become a well-defined leader?” Minasyan asked, and responded himself:

“Very often the measures, the future-oriented statements of this political force [that is, the Heritage Party] are not perceptible even for its own team.”

In Gagik Minasyan’s words, this will cause additional complications for Raffi Hovannisian in attempting to ensure the implementation of this capital in his future political actions.
