YEREVAN. – The substance of our Armenian state is damaged. If we were a republic before, now we are turning into a man-state, or a family-state, musical conductor Vardan Hakobyan noted during a press conference on Wednesday.

“The [people’s] movement is taking place independently from our will. To be honest, even the state employees do not believe in a good future for the country. Today, no specialist is where he should be,” Hakobyan said.

In his view, under the conditions of modern technology, many follow the rallies from home, or the office, and therefore opinions cannot be formed based on the number of those that are actually gathered at capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square.

“I see a solution to the political crisis by way of forming alternative structures; this will not result in clashes. Let the people themselves choose what they want,” the musical conductor stressed.

He also expressed a conviction that a state can be formed within the state on April 9, that is, when incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan is slated to swear in for a second term.

“Even if nothing new happens, we already have made revolution [in Armenia],” Vardan Hakobyan concluded.
