YEREVAN. – In an interview with Iravunk daily, Aleksandr Sirunyan, the attorney of Vardan Sedrakyan—Armenia’s former presidential candidate, non-party affiliate, and epic poetry specialist—noted that the appeal on reviewing Sedrakyan’s detention will be examined on March 18.

“Subsequently, he added: ‘I am almost sure that Vardan Sedrakyan’s restraining order of arrest will be commuted.’

To note, arrest was selected as preventive measure for the ex-presidential contender Vardan Sedrakyan. He is suspected in the assassination attempt against Armenia’s former presidential candidate, NSU [National Self-Determination Union] leader, Paruyr Hayrikyan,” Iravunk writes.
