YEREVAN. - Revolution in Armenia may occur after September 21, 2015, said the leader of “National Security” party and former adviser to the President of Armenia Garnik Isagulyan at the press conference.

According Isagulyan, after the presidential elections there is an impression of “volatile situation” in Armenia, while the impression is false.

“The rallies organized after the elections, the criticism of the authorities, and even the inauguration of an opposition candidate can seriously affect the situation in the country. The upcoming capital city council elections also can not lead to a major change, as long as the opposition forces are preoccupied with the question ‘around whom to unite’, while the ruling Republican Party of Armenia works with the voters and is serious about its victory in the upcoming elections,” said Isagulyan.

Former presidential advisor also noted that the major problem of the Armenian opposition lies in controversy around Freedom Square in Yerevan downtown. Thus, the opposition party with higher rating considers the Freedom Square its own property and starts to believe that the unification of opposition should be around that party. Thus, it starts to dictate its will to others. In other words, Armenian opposition likes to talk about democracy, but behaves quite differently, which is why the opposition unions never succeed. In this regard Isagulyan said that in the next 2 years no major process will emerge in the field of domestic issues.

 Isagulyan declined to specify, why he considers that major changes can occur only after the September 21, 2015, noting that this view was the result of serious research and calculations.
