YEREVAN.- If the opposition political forces united around Raffi Hovannisian, the de facto president-elect Hovannisian could possibly become de jure president, Heritage party member said. 

Head of Heritage parliamentary faction Ruben Hakobyan noted if those who repeatedly stated their “closeness to people” adhered to their statements and turned words into deeds, Hovannisian would be president now.

“Most people voted for Raffi Hovannisian. However, the main political forces confined themselves to formal statements that they are close to the people. These forces were working against Raffi Hovannisian. None of the leaders of political forces claiming they are concerned about the people, did not stand next to Raffi Hovannisian in Liberty Square. The exception was the ARF Dashnaktsutyun,” he said.
