YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Acting Premier, Tigran Sargsyan, on Tuesday attended the festive event devoted to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Police, the interim Government press service informs.

Congratulating all police officers on the occasion of their professional day, Sargsyan specifically noted:

“We notice substantial improvements in the Police work. We see that the Police are at the side of the Armenian citizens, and they provide service to our citizens. As a result, the citizens feels more protected.”

In the acting PM’s words, what the citizens see in a police officer today is a person who carries out his duties and creates a climate where the citizens will feel safe.

Sargsyan also noted, however, that there are still things to be done, and this means that all matters which cause a concern for the police should be at the focus of the government.

“Over the course of the next several years, we will do everything we can to significantly improve the conditions of the Police workers,” Tigran Sargsyan stressed.

In addition—and in connection with Police Day—Armenia’s acting PM presented Police Chief, Police Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan, with the Armenian Prime Minister’s memento—a watch in Gasparyan’s name—for his contribution to strengthening the police system, fighting against crime, and achieving combat readiness.
