YEREVAN. – Numerous changes need to be made in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. Olympic weightlifting champion, legendary athlete, and Presidential Adviser Yuri Vardanyan stated this during a press conference on Wednesday, speaking on the forthcoming Yerevan Council election.
“The future mayor should pay a serious attention to the existing problems. I, as an advisor to the President, spoke with the former and the present-day Mayor, Taron Margaryan. The issue of the [condition of Yerevan’s] roads is a priority for me,” Vardanyan stressed.
In his view, appropriate changes were made, “but there are so many things to do that even if we bring the world’s best mayor, you still will need twenty years to solve them with our means.”
Reflecting on the mayoral candidates, the presidential advisor said all of them want to do something good but, as per Yuri Vardanyan, the question at hand is their respective capacity.
