YEREVAN. – Armavia Airline Company’s—which is Armenia’s national carrier—stopping its operations as of April 1 did not have any negative impact on touristic visits, Deputy Economy Minister Ara Petrosyan said during a press conference on Friday.
“We are in contact with the private [sector], [and] the tourism agencies. We do not have any complaints, [or] canceled reservations,” Petrosyan said.
He further informed that other airline companies have increased their flights to Armenia and, as a result, they filled Armavia’s gap.
Furthermore, as per the deputy minister, Armavia already had reduced its flights in recent months and yielded the market to other airline companies, and therefore its “exit” from the market did not create emergency situations.
