YEREVAN. – The number of Armenia’s family benefit recipients comprised 101,000 in December 2012, against the 84,000 recipients in December 2011, the 2012 Budget execution report notes.  

The average amount of the monthly benefit totaled 29,350 drams (approx. $71). 

In connection with the birth of a child, 4,610 families that are entitled to family benefit, on the occasion of the child entering first grade in school, 9,366 such families, and in the case of the death of a family member, 124 such families received a lump-sum monetary assistance.
