YEREVAN.- Official rrepresentative of Prosperous Armenia party Tigran Urikhanyan said he saw contradiction in the actions of the U.S. State Department.
During the Tuesday press conference he commented on the recent State Department report containing criticism against the authorities in the context of recent congratulations following the presidential election.
Urikhanyan agreed with the opinion that the moves are contradicting each other. He did not rule out that the reason may be concrete and practical steps in foreign policy line.
The same contradiction Urikhanyan saw in the actions of the Armenian authorities. After recent criticism against high level of corruption, the president made a decision to reappoint Tigran Sargsyan to the post of a Prime Minister.
On April 20 State Department issued the 2012 Report on Human Rights Practices. The country report on Armenia said corruption and lack of transparency in government remain the most significant human rights problems in Armenia.
