YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Ambassador to Canada, Armen Yeganyan, on Monday met with Raynell Andreychuk, the Chair of the Canadian Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade. The parties discussed Armenian-Canadian political, economic and cultural interactions.

Ambassador Yeganyan and Senator Andreychuk also spoke about the key regional issues of the South Caucasus and, in this context, the ambassador presented details on the efforts by Armenia and the international community toward settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Yeganyan underscored Canada’s assistance to the OSCE Minsk Group’s respective efforts, Armenian MFA press service informs.     

In addition, the parties reflected on the Armenian-Turkish relations. Ambassador Yeganyan presented the Armenian President-initiated track-record for the normalization of these relations and Turkey’s withdrawal from the agreements that were reached. The interlocutors also drew attention to Canada’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
