YEREVAN.- The observation mission of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe will arrive in Armenia on May 1 to monitor local elections to the Yerevan Council.
This was stated during the Tuesday meeting of the head of CeO office in Armenia Oleksandr Pavlyuk and acting Deputy Minister, Minister of Territorial Administartion Armen Gevorgyan.
The monitoring delegation will include EU representatives. The delegation members will hold meetings in the Armenian government, Central Electoral Commission. They are expected to meet with the representatives of the political parties and civil society groups.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the events planned for Armenia’s upcoming presidency in the Council of Europe. They also touched upon reforms to be carried out in the local electoral system.
