YEREVAN.- Armenians must work together and do everything for Turkey to recognize the Armenian Genocide by the 100th anniversary, representative of French-Armenian community said.
Chairman of the Armenian culture house in Marseille Karo Hovsepian laid flowers at the Memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
“We are here, in response to the call of the Diaspora Minister, on a very important historical day. On April 24 Armenians should unite wherever they are and pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide,” Hovsepyan said.
Despite the fact that today’s Turkey is not the organizer of the massacre, it must recognize the history of its own people. Karo Hovsepian said Armenian Genocide commemoration events are being held in Marseilles from early morning. The day will end with a mass protest the ultimate goal of which is to force Turkey to recognize its own history.
