YEREVAN. – Russian Federation Ambassador to Armenia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, who soon will complete his diplomatic mission in Armenia, criticized Europe.

Speaking at the first Eurasian youth forum—entitled “One Step Forward”—which got underway in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan on Friday, Kovalenko noted that, “The Eurasian space is imposed upon no one, [and] it does not require from the participating countries to fulfill conditions on the precept of ‘More for More.’”

To note, in its relations with the participants in the Eastern Partnership Project, the European Union is guided by the aforesaid principle.

“We believe that this approach is incorrect. Everyone is free to control its destiny. I do not think that you will ever vote in favor of same-sex marriages—as a value of European civilization—in Armenia, or in other countries,” the Russian ambassador stressed.
