YEREVAN. – The American national currency’s average exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), comprised AMD 409.56/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Friday; this is a 0.42-percent—or an AMD 1.34—drop from the previous trading session on Thursday.

Friday’s sales totaled $6.4 million at the stock exchange. In all likelihood, the Central Bank of Armenia intervened in the exchange rate and collected the “extra” dollars from the market, so as not to permit the dram to gain further value.

There are no substantial changes, at the cash foreign currency market of Armenia, as compared to Thursday. As a rule, the US national currency is sold at AMD 412/$1, and its buying exchange rate fluctuates between the AMD 408-410/$1 range.
