YEREVAN. – A total of 26 local organizations and one international organization have applied for conducting an observation mission in the forthcoming Armenian capital city Yerevan Council election, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informed Armenian News-NEWS.am

The international organization that petitioned the CEC for such request is the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, six political parties and one bloc will run in the Yerevan Council elections. The latter are slated for Sunday, and the participating political forces will vie for 65 Council seats. The election campaign kicked off on April 7 and will come to an end on Friday. The Yerevan Council election will be held with proportional lists only.   

The observation missions could have accredited by April 25.
