YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) rally, which was planned to be held Friday at Liberty Square in capital city Yerevan, will not be held.
RPA Campaign Headquarters press officer Shushan Sardaryan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In her words, since the RPA’s campaign meetings for Sunday’s Yerevan Council election are held at the courtyards of residential areas and since several thousand people have attended such gatherings so far, the party decided not to change this tactic and decided to spend the last day of the campaign likewise at courtyards, establishing a direct contact with the voters.
“Today [on Friday], [RPA] mayoral candidate [and serving Mayor] Taron Margaryan and the Council candidates have five get-togethers at the Kentron [downtown] district, and therefore it is inexpedient to hold the rally,” Sardaryan noted.
