In the course of time, the South Caucasus will be a united region which Armenia may enter in the future, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a forum in Baku.

Saakashvili noted that Armenia needs ties with its neighbors and it can not remain an isolated country, Gruziya Online reported.

“I am confident that we will be able to integrate Armenia in the common area of stability. But it should happen as part of political liberalization, and not just due to the opening of the railway to Georgia and joining to a strategically important Kars-Akhalkalaki project,” he said.

He stressed that the region is at crossroads. In recent years, much has happened in terms of political orientation, Georgian President added.
