YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Premier, Tigran Sargsyan, on Wednesday introduced to the Government staff and the staffs of three ministries their newly appointed heads.  

Introducing the new Government Chief of Staff, Vache Gabrielyan, to the staff, the PM noted in particular:

“I am convinced that Vache Gabrielyan can best accomplish this work. Today, the Government will approve a bill, whereby the [Government] Chief of Staff will have a minister’s status. Mr. Gabrielyan will be tasked with coordinating the reforms in the domains of education, healthcare, and the system of governance.” 

Introducing the new Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Yuri Vardanyan, who is an Olympic weightlifting champion and a legendary athlete, the PM specifically said:

“The world of sports knows Yuri Vardanyan very well. From this perspective, we are convinced that Mr. Vardanyan’s track-record and knowhow will enable for us to achieve great success in this domain.”    

Speaking about the new Minister of Economy, Vahram Avanesyan, PM Sargsyan recalled that Avanesyan is one of Armenia’s finest economists.

“He is well informed of virtually all the problems which the Government faces today. I am convinced that this change will be smooth,” Sargsyan noted. The PM also informed that former Minister of Economy, Tigran Davtyan, will continue his future activities at the World Trade Organization, where he will represent Armenia. 

Introducing the new Minister of Finance, Davit Sargsyan, the PM stated in particular:

“Davit Sargsyan has tremendous experience and knowledge. We are expecting serious reforms, [and] I am convinced that the group, which is formed at the ministry under Davit Sargsyan’s leadership, will be able to effectively fulfill all the tasks that are set before it.” 

In their turn, the former and the newly appointed ministers thanked Tigran Sargsyan for his assessments and trust in them.
