YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan released a message of congratulations in connection with Victory and Peace Day and the 21st anniversary of the liberation of the City of Shushi, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh).
“May 9 is a day of glorious victories for our nation; [it is] a double celebration. The victory achieved in the Great Patriotic War came to prove yet again that it is impossible to defeat that soldier who defends his homeland.
“The peace-loving-natured Armenians showed once again that they are ready to prove, even at the battlefield, the devotion and love toward their homeland, and to defend with arms what was passed on to them from their forebears.
“This victory also inspired our heroic fighters of the Artsakh war and it paves the way for the victory of our battle.
“On this day of glorious victories, we also bow before the memory of the heroes that sacrificed their lives to craft these victories.
“Dear [war] veterans, we need your experience and advice very much. [And] the Yerevan Municipality and I will always be at your side,” Taron Margaryan’s messages specifically reads.
