French MP Valerie Boyer wrote a letter of petition to the country’s MFA noting about the need to restore air communication between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and she called on to assist in opening the Stepanakert Airport, Nouvelles d’Arménie monthly of France reports.     

“Even though when the reconstruction of the airport is completed and it meets safety standards, the Azerbaijani government prohibits the use of airspace while the Azerbaijani army threatens to hit civil airplanes.

“It is important that France play a leading role in establishing, within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, direct communication between [Armenia’s capital city] Yerevan and [Nagorno-Karabakh capital,] Stepanakert,” Boyer specifically wrote in her letter of petition.
