YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan on Thursday received Speaker Ali Fahad Al-Rashid of the National Assembly of Kuwait, who is in Armenia on a four-day official visit. 

Abrahamyan expressed confidence that the Kuwaiti parliament leader’s visit will contribute to the development of Armenian-Kuwaiti relations, the NA press service informs. He underscored the enhancement of ties with the Arab world, and noted that Armenia-Kuwait relations are progressing at a steady pace.        

“Interparliamentary ties are an important component of interstate relations, and the intensification of contacts between the parliaments contributes to the strengthening of mutual trust and the expansion of shared views within international organizations,” Abrahamyan noted.      

Highlighting regional stability and security, the NA Speaker stressed that Armenia is faithful to the precept of the pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.   

In his turn, Ali Fahad Al-Rashid expressed a conviction that his official visit to Armenia will become an important stimulus for the development of interaction between the two countries. In his view, the deepening of interparliamentary cooperation will play a role in the intensification of bilateral relations.    

In the Kuwaiti parliament leader’s words, the political positions of the two countries coincide, as both countries strive for peace and stability.    

Ali Fahad Al-Rashid also noted that his country is interested in developing trade, economic, scientific, and cultural ties with Armenia.
