YEREVAN. – Foreign Affairs Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian attended and addressed the 29th ministerial conference of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

The event kicked off Thursday in Paris, informs the Armenian MFA press service. 

In his address, Nalbandian underscored Armenia’s cooperation within the framework of La Francophonie and the OIF’s growing role in the international arena.  

“It has been one year since Armenia became a full member in the OIF. We are pleased to become a part of the francophone community. Our involvement [with the OIF] is carried on in parliamentary, university, decentralized, educational, cultural, sportive, and several other important domains,” Armenia’s FM stated, in particular.   

Nalbandian also highlighted that, at last year’s OIF summit, the organization’s member states had expressed their support to the efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 

The FM also assured that Armenia, together with the OIF member states, will continue its active efforts to further strengthen the role of the International Organization of La Francophonie and to push its objectives forward.
